What on earth is a political columnist, commentator, and editor doing raising money for a non-profit through a pancake fundraiser? Easy. I'm an expert at watching people flip-flop and make sausage (the messy process of passing laws).
Now, I don't know if sausage is part of this pancake breakfast. This is my first year and all. I am going to make a strong presumption, though, and guess pancakes are part of this breakfast. Pancakes? Unless you're saying no to carbs, who can say no to pancakes?
More importantly, who can say no to Haven House? This Lansing area refuge keeps together families who are going through a rough patch. It's not a multi-leveled national enterprise. This is a local charity doing work for local people who need our help.
