It has been over 5 years since good friends directed my attention to Haven House and the great work they do as the area's only "family" homeless shelter. A few minutes on the Haven House website and I was hooked. I became an office volunteer, a donor, a fundraiser, a board member and this is now my 6th Pancake Palooza as a Star Server.
I have met many wonderful staff, volunteers, donors and residents of Haven House all working together to make a positive impact in each other's lives. My life has absolutely been positively impacted by my involvement with Haven House which is why I love to spread awareness of Haven House because it might just be where you have been looking to become involved.
Ultimately what keeps me coming back as a Star Server, in addition to the free pie (in the face), is the honor to help the families and the kids. I'm going to continue to beg, borrow and appeal to my friends and family for the kids.
I'm going to hustle, bustle and possibly pull a muscle (will do odd jobs for tips) for the kids.
My greatest asset is my family and friends. Please help me leverage that asset for Haven House and for the kids.
